PatriotDrive
is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting Americans in
a Pledge of Allegience to our country. In the wake of Sept.
11, as Americans came together in unprecedented unity, a powerful
sense of patriotism engulfed our nation. This site was created
as an outlet for that expression and as a way to memorialize
it for future generations. In the past it has not been fashionable
to be a patriot. The word "Patriot" carried a number of, we
believe, very misleading and unfair connotations. Let me make
this perfectly clear -- the fact that we love America and what
it stands for does not mean we do not like others. It simply
means we love America. Patriotism has no party affiliation,
nor denomination. Patriotism should be inclusive, not exclusive.
It should unite us and not divide us. Being a patriot simply
means loving America.
We started
this site to help strengthen our collective resolve and help
to make sense of the war on terrorism. We want Americans to
know what drives these terrorists because terrorism is here
to stay and the terrorists' resolve is very strong. Let's strengthen
ours. Let us join together and recommit ourselves to the principles
of Liberty, Freedom, and Justice. Let us renew pride in our
values. By adding your name to the Pledge of Allegiance and
spreading the "word", you not only announce your commitment
to what this great nation stands for, you lend moral support
to our men and women in uniform, who are risking their own lives
to protect ours.
